River Cats to host Green Awarness Weekend 06/04/2008 6:45 PM ETSacramento River Cats
West Sacramento, Calif. -- The Sacramento River Cats, in partnership with Esurance and PG&E, will host Green Awareness Weekend this weekend (June 6 - 8) at Raley Field to promote awareness about environmental issues. The team will use the weekend as an opportunity to educate the likely 30,000-plus fans in attendance about what they can do to reduce their environmental footprint. The three-day weekend of events will feature eco-friendly giveaways, educational presentations and special "Go Green" ceremonies. River Cats players will wear special eco-friendly jerseys made from organic materials throughout the weekend. The three-day schedule is as follows:

The Sacramento River Cats and Raley Field are taking strides to minimize the organization's environmental footprint through ongoing recycling campaigns, electricity reduction, eco-friendly concession initiatives and various other environmentally friendly changes.
