River Cats to host Green Awarness Weekend
Club aims to promote awareness about environmental issues

West Sacramento, Calif. -- The Sacramento River Cats, in partnership with Esurance and PG&E, will host Green Awareness Weekend this weekend (June 6 - 8) at Raley Field to promote awareness about environmental issues.
The team will use the weekend as an opportunity to educate the likely 30,000-plus fans in attendance about what they can do to reduce their environmental footprint.
The three-day weekend of events will feature eco-friendly giveaways, educational presentations and special "Go Green" ceremonies. River Cats players will wear special eco-friendly jerseys made from organic materials throughout the weekend. The three-day schedule is as follows:
Friday, June 6th
River Cats reusable bag giveaway presented by Esurance (first 1,500 fans)
Saturday, June 7th
Esurance Eco-Friendly Jersey Auction: Game-worn Organic Jersey auction presented by Esurance with net proceeds going to the Sacramento Tree Foundation (fans who successfully bid on jerseys can pick them up after Sunday's game)
PG&E ClimateSmart salutes the River Cats in pre-game ceremony
Sunday, June 8th
PG&E Solar Energy Seminar from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. with PG&E solar experts
T-shirt giveaway highlighting the Bureau of Automotive Repair's drivehealthy.com campaign

The Sacramento River Cats and Raley Field are taking strides to minimize the organization's environmental footprint through ongoing recycling campaigns, electricity reduction, eco-friendly concession initiatives and various other environmentally friendly changes.
