Ramirez, the Big West Player of the Year with Cal State-Fullerton, joined the Rattlers on Monday night, but arrived too late to the ballpark to appear in the game against Great Lakes. Ramirez had been hitting .369 with eight homers and 30 RBI in 23 games at Helena, the Pioneer League affiliate of the Brewers, before the promotion. Ramirez had been named the Pioneer League Player of the Week on both July 18 and July 25 for his play in Helena.
Ramirez went 0-for-3 with a walk on Wednesday night at Clinton. He played first base and batted fourth in the lineup.
Timber Rattlers fans will get their first look at Ramirez at Time Warner Cable Field when the team returns home for a seven game homestand from July 30-August 5. The first game of the homestand is this Saturday night. The game starts at 6:35pm and features a postgame fireworks display. Sunday, July 31 is a 1:05pm game with a scheduled postgame autograph session for fans to get autographs from Ramirez and all of the Timber Rattlers.
There are tickets available for all seven games of the homestand. Fans may order tickets in person at the Time Warner Cable Field Box Office; over the phone at 800-WI-TIMBER or (920) 733-4152; or online at timberrattlers.com.
